Everytime around Christmas I go through an emotional roller coaster. Maybe because I never grew up with it. Maybe because there are people who experience true loving families and I feel I have missed the boat. Don't get me wrong- I'm among the blessed who has a loving spouse and awesome kids. Nevertheless, I tend to go through it. But I have overcome that today. The reason is because of one simple phrase: God is Love. I was thinking-amidst all the gift giving and celebration what people are yearning for is God's love. That is something that the human heart is created for- to experience His love and then give that to others. No amount of gifts can substitute for the experience of the Love of God. Have I experienced it to the extent I want to? Heck no. But I'm on my way. I decided to make it my life's goal. Nothing else will do. When you have that love permeating your being- I believe it then flows out like living waters. That's my prayer for all my brothers and sisters in Christ- to truly know the Love of God.
